Terms of use
Last updated: 24 October 2026
The service
Popdeck turns the subtitles of episodes you watch into vocabulary flashcards. It's in beta: features may change, break or be removed, and there may be downtime.
Your account
You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity on your account. One person per account, please.
Beta and paid plans
Popdeck is free during the beta. Early beta testers get lifetime Pro: Pro features for as long as Popdeck runs, at no cost. If you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy and their terms apply as well.
Fair use
- Use Popdeck for your own language learning.
- Only process subtitles you have legitimate access to, such as shows you're watching on a service you subscribe to.
- Don't try to extract full transcripts, scrape the service, get around plan limits or disrupt it for others.
Content
Shows and their subtitles belong to their owners. Popdeck stores word lists, not transcripts. Dictionary data comes from CC-CEDICT, for Korean English Wiktionary via kaikki.org, and for Japanese JMdict from the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (all CC BY-SA). Korean levels come from the National Institute of Korean Language's learner vocabulary list and the TOPIK vocabulary list; Japanese levels from Jonathan Waller's JLPT lists (CC BY). If you share a deck to the library, you allow us to show its word preview publicly until you stop sharing. Rights holders can ask us to remove listings: see Copyright.
No warranty
Popdeck is provided as is. Meanings and readings are generated automatically and can be wrong. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from using it.
Ending
You can stop using Popdeck and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Changes
We'll update this page if the terms change and say so in the app for important changes.
